Seawall Construction

Vinyl Seawall Installation In West Michigan

At Waterside Renovations, we offer custom designed  vinyl seawall systems for both residential and commercial/industrial applications.  There are many different materials and constructions methods that you can choose from when building a new seawall.  It’s our opinion that when you take into account installation costs, material costs, durability, aesthetic appeal, and longevity, vinyl is the best option for most applications.

Using vinyl seawall product provides waterfront homeowners some flexibility when it comes to design options and installation methods and we will work with you to find a product that fits your desires.  Some lakefront owners like the traditional corrugated look while others prefer the flat panel look that newer products offer.

Most vinyl manufacturers provide at least a 50 year on their products and some concrete reinforced vinyl hybrid seawall systems are expected to last a minimum of 70 years.

Seawall Material Choices

Vinyl Hybrid Seawalls

Vinyl hybrid systems utilize a unique box style vinyl pile that is driven into the ground.  After all of the segments of the wall are driven, rebar is placed inside the void and the box is filled with concrete.  This an incredibly strong and aesthetically pleasing wall that should last for 75+ years.

Vinyl Pile Seawalls

Standard vinyl sheet pile walls have the  traditional corrugated seawall look that many people prefer.  They are often reinforced and strengthened using a whaler system.  This style can also be reinforced with concrete in certain conditions with a little extra work.

Steel Pile Seawalls

For shorelines exposed to heavy ice pressure or where higher walls are necessary, steel sheet pile is the alternative to the vinyl hybrid system.
